Richmond Mall Reimagined

The Mall’s Next Chapter

Richmond Mall Reimagined is a multi-stage renewal of the entire shopping centre, designed to turn the mall into an exciting, modern retail and lifestyle experience to benefit the whole region.

"Richmond Mall is a really important destination for Nelson-Tasman, especially as the Tasman region continues to grow. As many locals will remember, this is not our first major revitalization where we have changed what the mall is, based on what customers want. Today’s customers have asked for a wider range of stores, national brands not currently in the region and more exciting customer experiences. So, we are committed to delivering that with Richmond Mall Reimagined."

STAGE 1 AND PAK’NSAVE OPEN

Stage 1 of the retail development is now completed and open.

Stage 2 construction works are now well underway with the old food court and store area now entirely deconstructed, ready for the construction of the new and exciting retail and dining experience between Stage 1 shops and PAK’nSAVE.

While there is no internal connection between the current shops and PAK’nSAVE, an additional external entrance to PAK’nSave has been made available.

The roof of the new Stage 2 section of the mall is due to be erected in April, followed by the concrete flooring.

One of the construction programme priorities for mid-2026 is to establish internal access for customers between the completed Stage 1 shops and PAK’nSAVE.

Richmond Mall is the only covered integrated shopping experience in the Nelson-Tasman region with over 23,000m2 of retail space anchored by two major tenancies (Farmers and PAK’nSAVE), 70+ specialty stores, 9 diverse food offerings and over 700 free carparks (there is temporarily a two-hour parking limit for mall customers during Stage 2 construction, which will return to three-hours when the project is completed).
